Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District – Sewer Discharge Limitations

District Limitations: At the point of discharge from the user’s property to the District’s wastewater system, all users shall comply with the following limitations.

Separate limitations apply for discharges to the District’s plants with outfalls to the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers (Large Rivers) and for plants with outfalls to all other streams (Small Rivers).

TTO – Total Toxic Organics – Shall not exceed 5.844 mg/l at any time.

T – Temperature – Shall not exceed 140°F (60°C) at any time. ***

pH – potential of Hydrogen – The pH Shall be in the range of 5.5 to 11.5 pH. at all times.***

* Total substance (dissolved plus suspended).

** All units are milligrams per liter (mg/l) unless otherwise noted.

*** Excursions may be allowed pursuant to the continuous monitoring provisions of Article X, Section Two, Subsection D.
